Measuring for a Pool Fence

One of the first things you’ll want to do is measure the outside of your pool.  To do this you will want to take three steps from the edge of your pool and then mark that area in some way.  You will then want to measure a square or rectangle depending on the dimensions of your pool with the same 3 foot distance.  This will give you a fair amount of space for your pool fence enclosure.  After you have taken the measurements you’ll want to add five to 10 extra feet to make sure you have enough for your enclosure.  Most pool fencing comes in 42, 48, or 60 inch heights.

Pool fence Installation can be very easy if you have the proper tools.  It will take you some time but if you have the right equipment you can do the job. The installation process begins with a starting point which is a certain distance back from the edge of your pool.  We normally recommend 3-4 Feet.  You drill a whole into the concrete slab using a masonry drill bit that fits the proper dimensions to your pool fence enclosure.  Once the whole is drilled you will have a special plastic insert which should be placed into the whole.  This will help protect the pool fence and secure it properly in place.  The next thing you will need to do is place one section of your pool enclosure into the whole to make sure it fits properly.  To make sure the pole is in properly it should be pretty steady and no bobble or move to the sides.  The pole has to be very stable when inserted.  If you have a good fit all you have to do is measure to the next whole the same distance as the section size that you purchased for your pool fence enclosure and repeat until you are finished.

After your pool fence has been installed you’ll want to purchase a lock to make sure a child cannot open the enclosure.  You can buy a secure lock at any hardware store like Home Depot or Lowe’s.  Most pool supply stores also carry locks for pool fenced enclosures.  Some people add alarms thanks to their lock in case the lock is breached or someone forgets to close the lock properly.  Depending on how safe you want to be you have these option available.  Make sure the lock is snug and does not have a lot of give.
